Laser Seam Welding
The welding technique that is used on the VW Jetta. It’s seamless and
helps create a more rigid body. Which equals less flex. Which equals a safer
ride with better handling.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Dual Reflector Headlamps
The Jetta comes with Dual Reflector headlamps. More reflectors mean more light
is cast out ahead of the vehicle, improving visibility. There’s even
a little VW logo in there too.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5 and 2.0T
Diversity Antenna
An antenna system which has 2 physical antennae. Whichever antenna has the
stronger signal for any given channel is used as the receiver, making sure
you get the best reception possible.
Standard In: 2.0T and GLI Optional In: 2.5
Independent Suspension
Independent suspension provides handling, control and ride benefits. Since
each wheel is able to pivot and be suspended separately from all other wheels,
it creates a nice, smooth ride in your VW.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Dual Exhaust Tips
They’re a complement to the rear of your Jetta. Or, maybe they’re
2 complements.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Heated Washer Nozzles
What good are washer nozzles if they are frozen closed? Your wiper nozzles
on your VW can heat up to keep ice from forming over them.
Optional In: 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Power Windows
Every VW is equipped with power windows. It’s not because we think you’re
lazy, it’s because we think you deserve it. And they all have pinch protection,
which helps reduce the risk of injury to a set of unsuspecting fingers when
the windows are closing.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Chrome Grill
It gives the front of your Jetta an even more distinctive look. Which goes
great with its distinctive
German engineering.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5 and 2.0T
Integrated Mirrors
The side view mirrors have the blinkers built right into them. This helps to
make your VW safer because it clearly signals vehicles to the left or right
of your VW when you’re turning or changing lanes. And as an added bonus,
it’s easier for the driver to spot when you’re driving with your
blinker on.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
interior features
MFI
The Multi-Function Indicator is a trip computer that not only tells you things
like outside temperature, engine temperature and how far you’ve traveled,
it will even let you know how much farther you can travel based on the amount
of fuel in the tank. Perfect for people who mix up their “E” and “F”.
Standard In: GLI Optional In: 2.5 and 2.0T
CLIMAtronic™ A/C
VW’s climate control system that automatically controls the cabin temperature.
Once the user sets the desired temperature, CLIMAtronic™ takes over to
maintain that temperature, regardless of fluctuations in the outside air temperature.
CLIMAtronic™ also allows the driver and passenger to set their own desired
temperature, creating
2 custom climates. Hey, “shotgun” deserves some control too.
Optional In: 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Premium VII Stereo
The optional Premium VII Stereo not only has 2 more speakers than the standard
stereo, but also adds an in-dash 6-disc changer that is MP3 compatible and
Satellite ready too. Of course, there’s a place for your iPod® to
join in the fun too. Just plug it into the Auxiliary jack located in the glove
box.
Optional In: 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Lane Change Feature Blinker
With the VW Lane Change Feature, all you’ve got to do is tap the blinker
once in the direction of your choice when changing lanes and the blinker will
blink 3 times, all on its own. Smart blinker.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Immobilizer III
Part of the theft deterrent system, this system will allow the vehicle to start
if a key with the appropriate digital coding is inserted into the ignition.
If anything without that coding is inserted into the ignition, the immobilizer
disables the ignition and your VW cannot be started.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Fold Flat Seat
As an option, the front passenger seat folds completely flat, just in case
you need a little more room for that giant plush gorilla you just couldn’t
pass up at the garage sale.
Standard In: 2.0T Optional In: 2.5
4 Cup Holders
2 cup holders are great, but 4 cup holders are better when you’ve got
a couple extra friends in the back seat. Or, if you’re just really, really
thirsty.
Standard In: 2.0T and GLI Optional In: 2.5
60/40 Rear Seat
You can fold down 60, 40 or 100 percent of the back seat flat. Why not 50/50?
Because sometimes you need to use a little extra room for cargo without having
to ask one of your friends to get out and walk.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
safety features
Anti-intrusion Beams
VW uses steel reinforcements in the doors which are designed to absorb and
redirect impact energy upon a side impact – basically creating a steel
cage to protect passengers.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
CSC
The Collapsible Steering Column is designed to actually collapse upon impact
to help prevent injuries to the driver.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Brake Pad Wear Indicator
VW thought it would be polite to let you know that your brake pads are almost
worn away before they’re gone completely and they possibly damage your
brake rotors. Thus the indicator.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Auto-locking Doors
Once a VW hits 8 miles per hour, the doors automatically lock. This helps to
keep the passengers safe inside the cabin of the VW. Just pull the handle twice
to unlock the doors, or hit the unlock button.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Tire Pressure Sensor
A sensor built into the valve stem of each tire reads the air pressure, letting
you know when one or more of your tires are too low. It only makes sense – properly
inflated tires make the vehicle both safer and more fuel-efficient.
Standard In: Jetta, 2.5, 2.0T and GLI
Head Restraints
VW calls them Rear Impact Optimized Head Restraints because after lots of testing,
we positioned the headrest at an optimum position to help reduce the chance
of whiplash-type injuries during a rear collision.
