Dual Reflector Headlamps
The Rabbit comes standard with Dual Reflector headlamps. More reflectors mean
more light is cast out ahead of the vehicle, improving visibility. There’s
even a little VW logo in there too.
Standard In: 2.5 2-door and 4-door
Laser Seam Welding
The welding technique that is used on the VW Rabbit. It’s seamless and
helps create a more rigid body. Which equals less flex. Which equals a safer
ride with better handling.
Standard In: 2.5 2-door and 4-door
Independent Suspension
Independent suspension provides handling, control and ride benefits. Since
each wheel is able to pivot and be suspended separately from all other wheels,
it creates a nice, smooth ride in your VW.
Standard In: 2.5 2-door and 4-door
Dual Exhaust Tips
They’re a complement to the rear of your Rabbit. Or, maybe they’re
2 complements.
Standard In: 2.5 2-door and 4-door
Integrated Mirrors
The side view mirrors have the blinkers built right into them. This helps to
make your VW safer because it clearly signals vehicles to the left or right
of your VW when you’re turning or changing lanes. And as an added bonus,
it’s easier for the driver to spot when you’re driving with your
blinker on.
Standard In: 2.5 2-door and 4-door
Power Windows
Power Every VW is equipped with power windows. It’s not because we think
you’re lazy, it’s because we think you deserve it. And they all
have pinch protection, which helps reduce the risk of injury to a set of unsuspecting
fingers when the windows are closing.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Rabbit Badge
A throwback to the original VW Rabbit logo. You’ll find this badge on
the rear hatch, a Rabbit’s best side.
Standard In: 2.5 2-door and 4-door
interior features
6 Airbags
A passive safety feature that is found in every VW. They’re activated
in certain types of vehicle collisions when a sensor triggers their deployment
in just milliseconds. You can also choose to get your VW with 2 additional
airbags for added safety. Safe Happens.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
*Airbags are supplemental restraints only and will not deploy under all accident
circumstances. Always use safety belts and seat children only in the rear,
using restraint systems appropriate for their size and age.
interior features
8-way Adjustable Seat
The standard manual seats were designed to let you find the absolute most comfortable
driving position possible, because we all come in different shapes and sizes.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children
Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children is a standardized child-safety anchor
system, which makes it easier for parents to install a child safety seat in
their VW the correct way.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
4 Cup Holders
2 cup holders are great, but 4 cup holders are better when you’ve got
a couple extra friends in the back seat. Or, if you’re just really, really
thirsty.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
60/40 Rear Seat
You can fold down 60, 40 or 100 percent of the back seat flat. Why not 50/50?
Because sometimes you need to use a little extra room for cargo without having
to ask one of your friends to get out and walk.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Fold Flat Seat
As an option, the front passenger seat folds completely flat, just in case
you need a little more room for that giant plush gorilla you just couldn’t
pass up at the garage sale.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Climatic
The standard VW climate control system. Complete with pollen filter and defrost
mode, there really isn’t anything VW Climatic can’t cool down.
Or heat up. Your choice.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
city features
Galvanized Body
All of the body panels on the Rabbit are built with fully galvanized steel.
Which helps prevent rust or whatever else may be caused by unknown city sludge.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Black Rub Strips
Roads are tight in the city, which is where your Rabbit’s black rub strips
come in. They run along the doors and the bumpers to keep your Rabbit’s
urban scrapes to a minimum.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Temp Display
Wondering if you should zip up before venturing out of your Rabbit’s
temperature controlled biosphere? Just take a glance at the dash every once
in a while to keep track of the change in outside temperature.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
interior features
Lane Change Feature Blinker
With the VW Lane Change Feature, all you’ve got to do is tap the blinker
once in the direction of your choice when changing lanes and the blinker will
blink 3 times, all on its own. Smart blinker.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Auxiliary Input Jack
This little hole makes your VW a lot cooler. The Auxiliary input is located
inside the glove box of your Rabbit. You can plug in your iPod® or even
your guitar (if you got one during the First Act promotion) and listen to it
through your Rabbit’s stereo.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Valet Key
Lock your glove box and gas door when you valet your VW. The valet key will
only unlock the doors and turn your VW on and off. So, all your personals stay
personal.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
8-speaker Stereo
The VW radio comes equipped with 8 speakers, that’s 2 for each corner
of the interior. Plus, it comes with an in-dash CD player that can read the
MP3 format. Want your iPod® to join the party? Just plug it into the Auxiliary
jack located in the glove box.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Immobilizer III
Part of the theft deterrent system, this system will allow the vehicle to start
if a key with the appropriate digital coding is inserted into the ignition.
If anything without that coding is inserted into the ignition, the immobilizer
disables the ignition and your VW cannot be started.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Alphabet Brakes
Includes the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Engine Braking Assist (EBA), Anti-slip
Regulation (ASR), Electronic Brake-pressure Distribution (EBD) and Hydraulic
Brake Assist (HBA). Safety. Safety. And more safety.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Integrated Logo
To the untrained eye, it may seem like there is no trunk latch on the Rabbit
at all. But, it’s actually part of the shiny VW logo right in the middle
of the hatch. It’s fun to let friends figure that one out on their own.
Standard In: 2.5 4-door
Key Fob
Thanks to selective unlocking, you can choose to unlock the driver side or
all doors when you press the unlock button. Use the panic button for safety
or to find your car in a crowded lot. Plus, you can put the windows down or
up and even close the sunroof by holding the key in either direction while
it’s in the door lock cylinder. If the key can do this, imagine what
the rest of the car is like.
